I LOVED Mamma Mia on stage; so, I went to the movie with low expectations, expecting to be disappointed by the singing voices of the cast. However, I was pleasantly surprised! While Pierce left something to be desired, Stellen Skarsgard was phenomenal as Sophie. Stellen and Meryl Streep were well-cast as mother and daughter. And, Christine Baranski and Julie Walters could not have been better cast as Meryl's sidekicks! Definitely a fun flick and well worth the $14 for someone who loves a good musical and the tunes of ABBA!

It's $12 at the Grove, but $14 at the Arclight where we saw this...pretty typical, though!
I love ABBA and am happy to hear you liked this movie (I can't believe this played in Brisbane and I missed it ... oh well) I'm so going to this one!
