Very Clever

I've never tried this posting from an email thing through Blogger, so we'll see how this works. A friend of mine sent this to me this week and I thought it was a very clever threading of the hymns we sing each Sunday in church.

Why LDS Women Stress

As Latter-Day Saint women, we are practically obsessed with anxiously engaging ourselves in good causes. Maybe it's subliminal.

Glancing through the hymnal last Sunday I noted that as sisters in Zion, we who are called to serve are all enlisted to go marching, marching forward because the world has need of willing men to all press on scattering sunshine. We wonder if we have done any good in the world today because we have been given much and want to do what is right, keep the commandments, press forward with the Saints, choose the right, and put our shoulders to the wheel going where He wants us to go. However, as the morning breaks high on the mountaintop, truth reflects upon our senses, and while we still believe that sweet is the work, we also realize that we have work enough to do ere the sun goes down.

And thus we ask Thee ere we part, where can we turn for peace?

Blog Title

So, today is one of those days when I'm tempted--as the result of the stupid actions of a boy--to change the subtitle of my blog to read "and all the MEN are merely players." But, I'll be nice and refrain from such childish behavior. Enough said...no further comment!

Glee!

I know I still owe you all a real update of my blog, but life is busy...and, when it gets really busy, I tend to collapse in the evenings instead of being productive and doing things like catching up on my blog. This Fall, I had alot of fun watching the new show that stands in a class all it's own...Glee. The storyline is pretty cheesy, but the music is so much fun!

My friend Ron gave me the DVD of season 1 for Christmas and it's become my current distraction. The show is much better the 2nd time through...and, it's fun to see the story back-to-back, in sequence!

Fallen off the the Edge of the Earth???

I promise I have not fallen off the edge of the Earth. And, I promise that I will be posting a few catch-up posts in the next week or so...so, stay tuned...more to come!

Somewhere over the Rainbow

I started this post on December 7th...I figured, since it was started, I'd go ahead and finish it...

We had rain today in LA, which makes me sooooo happy! One of the things I dislike about LA is that we don't have seasons here. Yes, the weather is certainly nice when it's only 80 in the summer, but does it have to be that warm on Thanksgiving and Christmas, too???

Since I started this post, we've had a few more days of rain--a whole week during January. I LOVE it!
