Sarah's Wedding--August 29, 2009

The Bridesmaids...number 2 and 4 are Sarah's sisters and my cousins Melissa and Emily.

My mom made Sarah's veil. Aiden LOVED it. He thought it was great fun to poke his finger through the holes in it; he was laughing hysterically.

Graham flew in from Scotland for the wedding to play the bagpipes as the guests entered the Country Club. I thought he was going to melt right off the porch in all that wool and the knee-hi socks!

The cake...the yummiest layer BY FAR was the middle layer which was white cake with a layer of cheesecake and caramel in the middle. It was crazy good!

Update on the Family

My cousin Sarah Stevenson (my mom's niece) got married last Saturday in Oakland. I flew in on Friday night; rented a car; drove to San Jose and hung out with Bryan, Melissa, and Aiden; headed to the wedding (at the Oakland LDS Temple) and the reception (at the Claremont Country Club); and, tried not to melt in between. I flew out Saturday evening--24 hours after arriving. It was SO MUCH FUN to see my nephews Jack and Aiden and to see baby Kate again; but it was SO HOT that weekend. I thought I was going to melt! Here are some fun pictures of the fam...

Jack and Aiden...these boys really are sooo much fun! They are that that age where they are really starting to enjoy playing with each other. And, they are learning to share.

This is Aiden and his parents Bryan (my brother) and Melissa. They have a new baby boy due the end of September.


Jack and Papa...nothing good can come from playing in a fountain in your good clothes...

At one point I thought he might go in head first...he got wet...but, thankfully did not go in all the way.

We tried to get a family photo of Jared's family. Here are Cindy, Kate, Jack, and Jared...obviously, Jack had a hard time just smiling and not being silly. He was pretty darned funny!

And, last, but not least...here are Nana and Papa with baby Kate. She's starting to smile...and, looks an awful lot like Jack!

From One Bowl to Another...

Lest it be confused with the Hollywood Bowl, "since the summer of 1992 the Burbank Starlight Bowl has been thrilling audiences with a blend of high energy performances and community based programming.

My friend Barbara has season box tickets. She was kind enough to take me with her to the Gin Blossoms concert on August 16th...talk about a blast from the past! Thanks Barb!

Hollywood Bowl

This summer, I've made my way to 3 concerts at the Hollywood Bowl. All 3 have been with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The first was with my ward and the young women I work with; the second was with a group of friends; and, the third was with two of the young women who are cellists--we went to see Yo-Yo Ma. He was AMAZING!

Fourth of July in Modesto

I already posted photos of the place from my trip home over the 4th of July, but I also got to meet Kate on this trip and to play with Jack and Aiden. It was a lot of fun and hard to drive home at the end of the trip!
